Subject:Parade - First Major Australian Production
Posted by:nobtsu.
Time:3:16 pm.

Following their internationally acclaimed season of Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins, Warehaus Theatre, in Brisbane Australia presents another premiere: the first major Australian production of the Tony® Award winning Broadway musical, Parade.

Set in Georgia, U.S.A., in 1913, Parade is the tragic, true story of Leo Frank, a Jewish man wrongly accused of the murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan. Already guilty in the eyes of everyone around him, and at the hands of a merciless media, Leo’s fate is sealed. His only defenders are a governor with a conscience, and his devoted wife who finds the strength and love to become his greatest champion.

I recently (like 2 days ago) started a forum called "Musical addicts". I'd be eternally grateful if you guys could check it out and maybe even join. It has anything and everything to do with musicals. Talk about specific musicals, actors, or composers. Thanks!

Subject:Songs For A New World
Posted by:pianoman1114.
Time:2:03 am.

I've been working (producing/directing/being in) a production of Songs For A New World at my school for about a year and a half now- and its finally coming together. Today we had a rehearsal with Brent Crayon, the pianist who played for the Rubicon theatre's production of Songs For A New World in Ventura. He's agreed to play for our production as well! He's been working us the last few days on the whole show, and all the things that JRB had told him and stuff like that. Very exciting.

ANYWAYS- thought you all might want to see this. Its the end of Hear My Song, the closing number from the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W4M9a2RGDw

If you're in the southern CA area, It's at Agoura High School May 5th and 6th at 7:00 and also May 6th at 2:00. I'll post a flyer with more info later if you like!

Tell me what you think, im really excited that it's finally coming together.

Favorite JRB Musical: well it changes daily but at the moment I'm going with L5Y
Favorite JRB Song: (this is a horribly mean thing to make me pick) but i'd have to go with a split between "Long Long Road" and "And I Will Follow". even though they aren't from shows its still quality.
Random Fact: umm... i saw JRB and talked to him yesterday. he played a small show @ birdland jazz w/ a special appearence by jenn colella and i went and afterwards i talked to him, got a picture with him and got him to sign some stuffs. twas nice. go to my page and theres a picture there. so yea. yay and whatnot

Favorite JRB Musical:Songs for a New World
Favorite JRB Song: See I'm Smiling

Hi everyone. I recently bought the sheet music for the Last 5 Years in hopes of finding the music for Miracle Would Happen for my friend who has an upcoming audition. Unfortunatly, as some of you know, the book omits that song as well as "See I'm Smiling". I was wondering if any of you lovely people could help me find a single sheet for the music or a book that does include it. Thank you so much in advance!

Favorite JRB Musical: 'The Last 5 Years'
Favorite JRB Song: 'Someone To Fall Back On'
Random Fact: I first heard 'This is Not Over Yet' into 'The Old Red Hills of Home' on the Tonys and luckily had taped them. I watched that song over and over again. Then, lurked in stores until I found it two months later. Then, when I moved and had a roommate, he told me to listen to Audra's CD 'Way Back To Paradise', specifically 'Stars and the Moon'. At the time, I had no idea it was the same composer, but immediately fell in love with the song. Then, I got to see 'The Last 5 Years' with Norbert and Sherie and was completely blown away. Still am.

Age: 20

Favorite JRB Musical: The Last 5 Years and Parade. I haven't seen Songs for a New World yet, but I love the music.
Favorite JRB Song: Shiksa Goddess and Climbing Uphill coupled with If I didn't Believe in You.
Random Fact: I actually met Jason two years ago. He was the guest keynote speaker at our statewide theatre conference. He brought Sherie Scott with him and they performed the whole of the soundtrack for L5Y for us. If you think Norbert Leo Butz is great in the role of Jamie, Jason is unimaginable. He has a different kind of emotion and takes on how the music is written; considering he wrote it.

Woah, bought Parade 2 days ago, listened to it for the first time last night and, as usual, was not let down! I think it's so amazing that Jason Robert Brown can do such as amazing a job with a 2 person cast, a 4 person cast, and a full sized cast. He's so talented. What a great musical! Additionally, I have Wearing Someone Else's Clothes comming in from amazon.com in a few days and I was wondering what you guys thought of it.
